Brisbane has older housing than the coast does, and a lot of it is on stumps with the sewer running underneath. Earthenware from the 1930s and 40s is common in the inner suburbs, and eighty year old street trees have had a very long time to find the joints.
The trouble is access. On a Queenslander you are working in a crawl space. On a tight inner city block there is no room to bring in a machine, and in places like Spring Hill the laneways are too narrow for a truck.
Relining solves both. It goes in through an existing access point, so the crawl space stays a crawl space and the street stays open.
On heritage adjacent housing it matters more again. Opening a wall or a path on one of those places means trades, permits and a lot of money that has nothing to do with plumbing.
Nothing gets quoted off a guess. The camera shows exactly where the damage is, how long it runs, and whether the pipe is a candidate for lining at all.
The old pipe gets jetted and cut clean so the liner bonds properly. Roots, scale and build-up all come out first.

We price a reline after the inspection rather than before it, because the metres are only part of it. Access is the bigger variable: a run reachable through an opening that is already there is a different job to one needing a pit dug at the start of it. Bends, junctions and the diameter all shift the figure as well. What we can say up front is that the inspection and the quote cost you nothing.
