What we collect
When you book a job or send us a message we collect your name, phone number, address and a description of the problem. That is what we need to turn up at the right place and fix the right thing.
If you pay us, our payment provider handles your card details. We do not see or store card numbers.
What we do with it
We use it to quote, schedule and complete your job, to invoice you, and to contact you about that work.
We may contact you afterwards about the job we did, for example a warranty question or a reminder about maintenance on something we installed. If you would rather we did not, tell us and we will stop.
We do not sell your information to anybody, and we do not hand it to marketers.
Who else sees it
Only the people who need it to get your job done. That means our own plumbers, and where relevant a supplier delivering a part to your address.
We use ordinary business software to run the business, such as job scheduling and accounting. Those providers store data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for anything else.
We will hand over information where the law requires it, and not otherwise.
How long we keep it
Job and invoice records are kept for seven years, because tax law requires it.
Enquiries that never became a job are cleared out once they are clearly not going anywhere.
Seeing or deleting your information
Ask us. Ring 0476 104 630 or email blake@geniesplumbing.com.au and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct anything wrong, or delete what we are not legally required to keep.
If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
This website
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It sets a cookie and tells Google the address of the page you are on. We use it to work out what is worth writing more of, and we cannot see who you are from it.
The Ask Blake chat in the corner is ours. Nothing loads until you open it, and what you type goes into our own database and to Blake's phone. It is not run by an outside company and it is not shared with one.
The reviews on our testimonials page come straight from our Google listing through a company called Trustindex. That page, and only that page, loads their code.
The typefaces come from Google Fonts, and the booking form is delivered by FormSubmit, which passes it to us and does not keep it.
We do not run advertising trackers, we do not sell anything about you, and nothing on this site follows you around the internet afterwards.
If you follow a link to our Google listing, Google's own privacy terms apply to what happens after that, not ours.
