A dripping tap is the job people put off longest, partly because it feels small and partly because the drip is easy to stop hearing. It is not small on the bill. A tap that drips runs every hour of every day, and as often as not it is hot water going down the gully.
What has worn depends on the tap. An older set with separate hot and cold handles works on a rubber washer that hardens and splits, and a brass seat underneath that pits with use. Fit a new washer without recutting the seat and it will drip again inside a month.
A mixer is a different animal. There is no washer in it. There is a ceramic cartridge, and when that goes the tap either drips, turns stiff, or starts letting hot through when it is set to cold. Cartridges are not universal, so the repair depends on matching the brand.
Near the water, tapware ages faster than it should. Salt pits the chrome and seizes spindles, so a tap that would give twenty years inland gives up a good deal sooner a few streets back from the beach.
A drip from the spout and a drip from the base are different faults with different fixes. So is a mixer that has gone stiff rather than started leaking.
We identify the tap and the washer or cartridge it takes. Common ones ride on the van. Anything unusual gets sourced instead of forcing something close enough.
Recutting the seat and fitting a new washer is a proper repair. On a tap that is corroded through it is money after money, and you will be told that rather than charged for it.
Taps in a house are usually the same age. If one has gone the rest are close behind, and doing them together saves a second visit.

Had an issue with our 16 year old toilet leaking from underneath the pan somewhere. Called Blake & he sent Lachlan out the following morning to diagnose & quote. Lachlan gave us 3 options, which was great. We chose the middle one, which included replacing all the internals, so hopefully we should be OK for another 16 years! Both Blake & Lachlan were great to deal with & Lachlan did a great job - definitely better than the original installation, which looked a bit dodgy! Happy to recommend.

Absolutely amazing service from the moment I got in touch with them, and in particular Blake. I explained to him my issue and he took the time and effort (completely unprompted) in providing steps of how he would tackle the problem. When it came time to actually have the issue physically looked at, Lachie gave me a call and let me know how far away he was; he arrived promptly and on-time, and was able to very quickly diagnose and provide a solution. I was quoted on the spot and not pressured whatsoever to have more things looked at than I needed to, which I very much appreciated. I called Blake to help locate a tricky water leak on our acreage property, he quickly identified multiple leaks on both the council and our side of the line and got them all fixed. He kept us informed every step of the way, and was incredibly responsive and professional, and a genuinely nice person.
