Southport is really two suburbs sharing a name. There is the older residential grid behind Ferry Road and Queen Street, post-war fibro and lowset brick on quarter acre blocks with figs and poincianas that have had sixty years to spread. Then there is everything along the Broadwater and through the Australia Fair precinct, which is towers, units and shopfronts.
They fail completely differently. In the old streets it is earthenware and clay sewer with roots through the joints, and the first sign is a shower that drains slower each month. In the towers it is a blockage in a stack, which is never one apartment's problem, and a leak that starts on one floor and shows up two floors below.

Had an issue with our 16 year old toilet leaking from underneath the pan somewhere. Called Blake & he sent Lachlan out the following morning to diagnose & quote. Lachlan gave us 3 options, which was great. We chose the middle one, which included replacing all the internals, so hopefully we should be OK for another 16 years! I called Blake to help locate a tricky water leak on our acreage property, he quickly identified multiple leaks on both the council and our side of the line and got them all fixed. He kept us informed every step of the way, and was incredibly responsive and professional, and a genuinely nice person.
