Burleigh's a mix of two very different building eras sitting close together. Down near the headland and along the older streets running off Goodwin Terrace and the Esplanade, there are still plenty of houses and beach shacks from the 1960s through the '80s, with the original copper, galvanised or earthenware pipework still in the ground. Further back from the beach, the newer townhouse and apartment developments have modern PVC drainage - but even that's not immune to what's underneath it.
The direct salt-air exposure this close to the coast speeds up corrosion on ageing metal pipe faster than it would a few kilometres inland. And the sandy coastal soil that makes Burleigh's blocks easy to build on also moves more than clay or heavier soils do - it drains fast, shifts with wet and dry cycles, and doesn't hold a pipe as rigidly in place. That movement is what cracks joints and opens up gaps for tree roots, and it's a big part of why we see repeat problems in the same runs on older Burleigh properties.
There's also a fair number of short-stay and holiday-rental properties around here, especially near the beach and the James Street precinct. A blocked or leaking line between guest turnovers is a different kind of problem - the fix still needs to be right, but there's usually a tighter window to get it done in.

Relining is priced by the metre and by how difficult access is - a straight run to a boundary trap costs less to fix than a long, bent or hard-to-reach section. Coastal soil movement and root intrusion can also affect how much cleaning the pipe needs before the liner goes in. We won't quote a number until the camera's told us what we're actually dealing with. What we can tell you upfront: the price is agreed before any work starts, there's no call-out fee for the camera inspection, and for a Burleigh property with a driveway, pool surrounds or landscaping over the top of the pipe, relining is usually the cheaper option once you account for what dig-and-replace would do to everything sitting above it. The liner itself is rated for around fifty years once it's cured in place, so it's not a short-term patch against salt-air corrosion or shifting coastal soil - it's meant to outlast both.
For most Burleigh properties, yes - particularly where the damaged pipe runs under a driveway, pool surrounds, established landscaping or a slab. Dig-and-replace means tearing up whatever's on top and putting it back afterwards, which often costs more than the relining itself once you add up the restoration work. The liner is also a continuous sleeve with no joints, so it doesn't give tree roots the same entry points the original pipe did.

Had an issue with our 16 year old toilet leaking from underneath the pan somewhere. Called Blake & he sent Lachlan out the following morning to diagnose & quote. I called Blake to help locate a tricky water leak on our acreage property, he quickly identified multiple leaks on both the council and our side of the line and got them all fixed.
