Paradise Point is a Broadwater suburb with a high concentration of in-ground pools, canal frontage and homes built from the 1960s through to the more recent canal estate developments on Sovereign Islands and Ephraim Island. That combination creates two specific leak problems.
First, pools. A waterfront suburb like this has a lot of them, and a pool with an auto top-up valve can hide a serious leak completely. The water level stays constant because the system just keeps refilling it, while the pump, the pipework or the pool shell keeps leaking underneath. Many owners only find out when the water bill arrives.
Second, older pipework. A property built decades ago is running pipe that's had a long time to fail. Joints in old copper or early poly lines corrode and weep slowly, often with no visible sign above ground because the leak is under a slab, a paved courtyard or landscaped garden between the house and the water. Salt air along the Broadwater speeds up corrosion on exposed fittings and taps too, which isn't something inland suburbs have to deal with in the same way.
On a block where the plumbing runs under expensive pool paving or canal-front landscaping, finding the exact leak location before any digging happens isn't optional. It's the only sensible way to do the job.

An unusually high water bill with no obvious cause, a section of lawn or garden that's greener or wetter than the rest, the sound of running water when every tap is off, a damp patch on a slab or driveway, or a water meter that keeps ticking over when nothing in the house is using water. On a canal-front block, a damp patch near a seawall or pool concourse is also worth having checked rather than assumed to be groundwater.
The simplest check is the bucket test - mark the pool water level and a bucket of water sitting on the step, then compare the drop after 24 hours. If the pool has dropped noticeably more than the bucket, it's a leak, not evaporation. If your pool has an auto top-up valve, turn it off before testing, because it will mask a leak by refilling automatically. We can run this properly and then use acoustic and pressure testing to find the source if a leak is confirmed.

Had an issue with our 16 year old toilet leaking from underneath the pan somewhere. Called Blake & he sent Lachlan out the following morning to diagnose & quote. Lachlan gave us 3 options, which was great. We chose the middle one, which included replacing all the internals, so hopefully we should be OK for another 16 years! Both Blake & Lachlan were great to deal with & Lachlan did a great job - definitely better than the original installation, which looked a bit dodgy! Happy to recommend.

Absolutely amazing service from the moment I got in touch with them, and in particular Blake. I explained to him my issue and he took the time and effort (completely unprompted) in providing steps of how he would tackle the problem. When it came time to actually have the issue physically looked at, Lachie gave me a call and let me know how far away he was; he arrived promptly and on-time, and was able to very quickly diagnose and provide a solution. I was quoted on the spot and not pressured whatsoever to have more things looked at than I needed to, which I very much appreciated. While I've got my fingers crossed to not have any further short-term issues with my property's plumbing, I'd wholeheartedly recommend these guys and gals to anyone willing to listen. Very happy with the service from Genies Plumbing. We had a leaking kitchen tap and Blake was out in a couple of hours. He sourced a new one, came back later in the day and fitted it. I called Blake to help locate a tricky water leak on our acreage property, he quickly identified multiple leaks on both the council and our side of the line and got them all fixed. He kept us informed every step of the way, and was incredibly responsive and professional, and a genuinely nice person.
